The
Hometown Pride Award recognizes businesses or organization for
upgrading the appearance of their business establishment's exterior, improving the appearance
of their neighborhoods, and beautifying the region. The 2009 Hometown Pride Awards were presented
to Idlewild Ski Shop for exterior improvements and the Clifford Historical Society for renovations
to the Hoover School.

Macy Matthews has graduated and gone on to James Madison University. We are continuing her
community service project of helping the Special Olympics. If you have any new or used equipment
or clothing (jackets, ski pants, skis, ski boots, poles, helmets, goggles, gloves & mittens,
winter boots, etc), we would be happy to accept donations at the Ski Shop. Any extra clothing not
utilitzed for the Special Olympics will be donated to a local drive which distributes clothing
within the community. If you have any questions regarding donations, please call the Idlewild Ski
Shop at 570.222.4200.

For the past 15 years, and with plans to continue for years to come,
Idlewild Ski Shop staff, family and friends take part in the Annual Great PA Cleanup.
Volunteers fill countless garbage bags with trash picked up along the
two-mile section of Route 374 leading from West Clifford to Lake Idlewild.
By participating in the Pennsylvania "Adopt-A-Highway" Program, the Ski Shop
shows a commitment to keeping our community clean and beautiful.
Thanks to our volunteers these cleanups are a success in our corner of our state!
